Private Practice

Dr. Mark Blechner is trained as a psychologist and psychoanalyst.  He has a private practice in New York City, working with individual adults and couples.  He is licensed as a psychologist in New York State.

Dr. Blechner supervises other mental health professionals on their psychotherapeutic work.  He also leads several private courses – two seminars on the study of dreams and a seminar on sexual issues in psychotherapy.

Training

Postdoctoral training:

Dr. Blechner was awarded a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology in New York City.

Doctoral training:

Dr. Blechner received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Yale University.  He interned at the Psychiatric Institute, Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Pre-doctoral education:

Dr. Blechner received his B.A. from the University of Chicago.
